The coordinator from Early Intervention came back today to discuss the results from the initial evaluation.
Apparently I misheard and they prefer the score be ABOVE 90, and for gross motor, small motor, and one other thing (I forget what she said) they check for he got upper 90's and on one got 100! :) I already knew that.
His problem solving and communication (which she said go hand in hand) he got mid-upper 80s so it's right on that cusp between for sure needing assistance and maybe-sort of needing a nudge.
What we are doing now is the corridinator will come every month for 3 months (Not counting Sept, just October and November) to keep an eye on him. Their thinking is since he had the ear infections for so long that his speech is just slightly delayed and will catch up eventually. They want him to have closer to 50 words at 1 year (right now he has 4, Mama, Dada, Hi, Bye) and they think maybe since he had the tubes put in in March that he'll pick up the words eventually. If, by November he's not picking up more words then we'll do some more intensive therapy.
So that's the plan now...Hurry up and wait. I'm doing some research on-line for different things I can do with him at home. We're giving him words whenever we can, if he points at a cup I say "Drink" and hold the cup up and say drink again, when I hand it to him I say drink again LOL. Same with food, we say Bite over and over and I'm reading to him...and when we go on walks if he points at stuff I give him the word of it over and over...hopefully he will pick them up eventually.
